CORE
The CORE option for DUO IV Tracking™ allows for comprehensive visibility across every aspect of a fleet's performance. The following components form part of our core offering:

VEHICLE AND DRIVER TRACKING
Know where your vehicles are and what drivers are doing at all times. Positions are updated via GPRS every 15 seconds with GSM as a back-up. Intelligent communication and prioritisation protocols ensure that low cost routing principles are applied. All units are voice enabled to provide a cost effective and direct link to drivers whilst on route. High quality maps are continually updated and rendered quickly to provide holistic route and detailed street level information.
A variety of standard en-route reports can be obtained on specific events, locations, alerts, panics, tamper alarms etc. per vehicle or fleet. User defined reports can also be provided on the multitude of data recorded. Comprehensive history reports are available and all data is stored securely for 5 years with a complete recovery solution.
DUO Solutions Provider was the first company in this industry to provide a 24/7/365 service centre. The DUO Bureau serves as both a control room and contact centre. Our operators are highly skilled to manage exceptions on a pro-active basis and provide round-the-clock support and assistance. All fleets are monitored to ensure maximum uptime and connectivity. A minimum of 98% uptime is adhered to at all times across all fleets. Our team is proud to contribute to the high levels of visibility we achieve and issue alerts or warnings as predefined by our clients. All requests are logged and reference numbers issued, thereby ensuring fully auditable service levels.
DUO utilises the services of the SAPS to react to security incidents such as theft, hijackings etc. as part of the standard Bureau Service offering. State of the art digital telephony ensures all conversations are recorded. This service can be further augmented by contracting with our reaction and recovery partner directly at preferential subscriber rates.
CORE PLUS
The DUO CORE PLUS offering includes all the CORE functionality as well as driver ID keys, green band driving and immobilisation. The added functions give customers remote controls to prevent or modify wrong operational conduct.
Driver identification is based on Dallas iButtons. Each vehicle has a list of authorised drivers, which is downloaded to the vehicle unit on the vehicle. If a key is stolen or lost the list is amended and the new list immediately downloaded to the vehicle. This system logs successful and failed attempts to start the vehicle, identifying the driver and the period for which the vehicle was driven. Installation of the Driver ID key makes it possible to draw comprehensive reports by unique driver on driving styles, hours of work etc. which not only eliminates unauthorised use of vehicles, but also provides a fair and accurate basis on which driving behaviour is monitored and incentivised.
Fuel consumption and maintenance costs can be drastically reduced by ensuring that the vehicle is consistently driven in the green band as defined by the customer. We take great care to configure the correct parameters per client and vehicle type to enable the real-time analysis of driver behaviour. The trip debrief report provides detailed information per vehicle and driver. Clients set their own targets in terms of 'green-band' driving to record idling, harsh braking and speeding. Those drivers who do not meet defined targets can then receive relevant training based on their needs.
Protect your vehicles, goods and crew by installing DUO’s immobilisation products to give you maximum protection against potential hijacking or theft. Most thefts and hijackings are successful due to an element of surprise. Years of experience in this field has led DUO to design immobilisation products that work in various circumstances and thwart the perpetrators by reducing their options and presenting them with unforeseen problems in executing their plan. Having analysed various hijacking attempts, we can provide our clients with the additional peace of mind that almost all eventualities can be anticipated and therefore the risk dramatically reduced. Hot spots are also actively monitored and reported on.
DUO ensures that the installation and implementation of all the immobilisation products conforms to your vehicle manufacturer’s requirements and where possible utilises functionality present in the vehicle to assist with the effective mobilisation. The result of utilising DUO’s immobilisation solutions is either a total prevention of the incident, or the recovery of both the vehicle and the load. Our FuelStop device uses either fuel or electronic technology to bring the vehicle to a halt in a controlled manner. Even if the immobilisation is activated when the vehicle is being driven at high speed, the DUO FuelStop continues to give the driver control of the vehicle since power steering, airbrakes etc. remain fully operational.
The immobilisation can be activated remotely by the DUO Bureau on a valid instruction from the customer. When the FuelStop is remotely activated, the DUO vehicle unit confirms activation and gives an updated position and time. This means that reaction and recovery teams can easily locate the vehicle, even if the DUO vehicle unit has subsequently been attacked.
PREMIUM
The DUO Premium offering includes all the visibility features of the CORE and the added remote control of the CORE PLUS package, as well as daily delivery scheduling and / or cold chain management (depending on a client’s operational model and requirements).
Enhance your control over delivery schedules for the day or a specific route by tracking the progress of scheduled stops. Depending on the status, deliveries can proactively be rescheduled or clients notified of changes in delivery times within agreed service level standards. Part deliveries, return loads and unnecessary cost are accordingly reduced. Driver debriefing includes proof of delivery and order fulfilment. This powerful tool also enables you to integrate your tracking intelligence with advanced planning systems such as Roadshow®, in order to significantly increase the number of drops per day without increasing fleet size.
The real-time updates and progress reports enable the control room to reschedule deliveries and measure service level agreements with customers. Proof of delivery becomes more transparent and audit trails are utilised to create a continuous learning environment. Having a plan is one thing – being able to track and measure your progress along the way is where real power and leverage are created.
Cold Chain management is a specialised field requiring many different technologies to control the temperature of perishable goods. In instances where the correct temperature of a delivery is critical e.g. in healthcare or FMCG, clients have successfully implemented various temperature probes and alerts to monitor the temperature throughout the trip and prevent unauthorised door opening. We understand that there should be no weak link in the chain and the motto at every link should be "Don't cool - keep cool". The delivery aspect forms a critical link in this chain. Once a prescribed low temperature has been reached, we track that it is maintained as far as possible, with minimum temperature fluctuations.
